Route 2 Route 2 is a north-south route located in west Kanto. The northern terminus of the route is at Pewter City and its southern end is located at Viridian City. There are two separate pathways that move roughly parallel. One, which is easier to travel, goes through Viridian Forest. The eastern path is only accessible by trainers with Pokémon who know the move 'cut.' |

Viridian City Viridian City, located in western Kanto, is a relatively small city, though certainly bigger than Pallet Town. The gym here is shut down and has been for a while. It isn't the place to go if you're looking for a badge. In order to leave or enter the city, one has three options. To the north is Route 2 (and along Route 2 is Viridian Forest) to Pewter City. To the south is Route 1, which leads back to Pallet Town. To the west is Route 22, leading to the Indigo Plateau and the Pokémon League. |

Pallet Town Pallet Town is located in the western part of the Kanto region. There are only two roads which lead to Pallet town. From the north is Route 1, which leads to Viridian City. The other is Route 21, a water route, which leads to Pallet town from the south. |

Route 21 From the southmost part of Pallet town leads Route 21. It is a water route and can only be traveled through by boat or with a Pokémon that knows the move 'surf.' |
